On Friday, October 13th, DePaul’s Upsilon Pi Epsilon hosted a full day workshop on BioMedical Informatics. The event featured three introductory presentations by DePaul faculty and researchers in the morning and advanced presentations by well-known researchers in the Biomedical Informatics field during the afternoon. Elizabeth M Glass, PhD from the Bioinformatics Group at the Mathematics & Computer Science Division of Argonne National Laboratory spoke on the “Integrated Bioinformatics Systems and Tools at MCS/ANL.” Ming-Yang Kao, PhD a Professor at Northwestern University’s Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and the McCormick School of Engineering & Applied Science presented “Some Experiences with Formulating Algorithmic Problems for Bioinformatics.” Samuel Armato III, PhD an Associate Professor of Radiology in The University of Chicago’s Department of Radiology discussed his findings in “Research in Computer-Aided Diagnosis.” Please contact us with any questions.
