On Friday, May 9th, DePaul’s Upsilon Pi Epsilon will host a full day workshop on Medical Informatics. The event will feature three introductory presentations by DePaul faculty in the morning and advanced presentations by well-known researchers in the Medical Informatics field during the afternoon. This will be the forth workshop presented by Upsilon Pi Epsilon, DePaul's honor society of computer science. This year we are pleased to welcome our guest speakers: Dr. Sameer Antani, Staff Scientist at the National Library of Medicine, NIH; Dr. Susan Gapstur, Professor at Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University; Dr. Mohammad-Reza Siadat, Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Oakland University. Presentations will include discussions on problems that are at the core of medical informatics such as Computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD), Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR), image analysis and understanding, data mining, and text information processing methods for delivering relevant information to the clinician at the point of care.
